SuicideGirl Gamer of the Month: Meluworld (Hopeful)

Why did you choose the name "Meluworld"?

I´ve been through many usernames in online gaming, like Melysa, Meluchiis, and all based around my name "Melisa" so that´s why the part of "Melu", haha. But when I created my page I wanted not only to be me, I also wanted to show everyone how I see the world. I don't like to live a standard life of 10 hours working for others and waiting until weekend to be me. I like to live my life to the fullest and want to show everyone how my WORLD is. So that´s why I think Meluworld is what fits better.

How long have you been a part of the SuicideGirls community?

I always think that if I have no ink on me it couldn't be possible to become a SuicideGirl, but I like to try because what´s worst that could happen? Just a "no" as answer?

And here I am... hopeful since 2020, 7 sets up and 3 incoming to be release in the next few months. Always working hard to make my best at SuicideGirls.

Where are you from?

I´m from Argentina, South America. But I'm also a Spanish girl if we go into papers.

What first got you interested in video games?

I can say that it´s all my father´s fault! Chibi Melu waited for him to come from work to play Mario on Famicom (Or family, how we call it here).

That introduced me into video games, but life sent me through the path of anime and video games (in the era when it wasn't cool and you got bullied for it), match with my soulmate and here we are with the biggest Zelda collection of my country if I can show off.

What are some characters that you have cosplayed?

I´ve been doing cosplay since 2004 so I have made a lot of characters. Yuri Sakasaki from KoF was my first one and Lima from Saber Marionette is one of my favorite which I did in 2006. There´s a full list, but for that I recommend you follow my Instagram @melucosplay.

Any plans for future cosplays?

I´m making a full lighted Portal Gun to make Chell. I had it for years and I think its time to make it real. The cosplay itself is easy, but the props have to be perfect!

Favorite video game? Movie? TV show? Band?

I can't say I have a favorite video game, but I do have a favorite franchise. It´s Legend of Zelda.

My favorite movie is Cloud Atlas. Love the way it talks us about freedom in such different ways. I think we all deserve it, but we have to be prepared to use it properly

TV Show? Simpsons for sure! It was born with me haha

I have to cheat on this one and choose two bands: a Spanish & English one. I love "The Killers" but also "La oreja de Van Gogh" is one of my favorites (with Amaia the old singer, she writes like a goddess).

So no tattoos?

The only tattoos I had on me was the one which came with the bubble gums. I'm so afraid of needles, I think I couldn't handle a tattoo session.

I admire girls who have tons of them. They are brave and strong! I think I am too but in personality, and not when my skin is involved, haha.

What are some of your other hobbies?

My main hobby is to help others to make their dreams come true. It sounds "stereotypical" but it is real. Unfortunately people aren't always ready to share their dreams with others, and when they do, they want it all served and don't want to fight for them. I love to be there to help them with the fight, making them do the first step to fulfill they dream.

But if we have to talk about a hobby that only involves me, I like to write, read, and woodworking. I have a workshop which I do it for living.

What is something about cosplay that you find annoying?

The competitive side of it. I hate how people get when there´s something to compete about. Cosplay is about fun, but there´s always the one who talks crap about other cosplayers, or seems nice in person and then talk bad about you behind your back. When you are a grown up adult you learn how to handle these situations, but there´s so many teenagers into it. I don't say we have to make a nice community, but at least don't bother others who are doing what they like most.

What is your FAVORITE part of cosplaying?

I LOVE TO MAKE PROPS. My favorite part of it is make prop of guns, staff, and all that extra stuff that a costume has. My cosplay from Pokémon Black & White even has the berries from the game inside the pouch. Yes, they are inside the pouch and you can't see them in the full cosplay, but I enjoyed doing them so much!

I choose the name ohlarraine for a song from Azure Ray, its called Larraine.

What are some characters that you have cosplayed?

Sakura, Starfire, Snow White, Alice, Hermione Granger, Sailor Moon, and Mileeena.

Any plans for future cosplays?

Favorite video game? Movie? TV show? Band?

For the King, League of Legends, Batman Returns, The Good Doctor, Lie to Me, Nirvana, Green Day, Red Hot Chili peppers.

Tell me about your different tattoos.

I have so many tattoos that I already lost count, but each one of them has a meaning, even the smallest, from some ocean waves that I tattooed with my friend, (we both love the sea and surf), to a peacock feather that I have because my family rescued one until we had to release it. I also have tattoos on my fingers, on my legs, Snow White and Alice, a black cat, and a pizza. Very funny! They all have a meaning and I don't regret any of them.

What are some of your other hobbies?

I'm a photographer. I love read and listen to music. I also travel and surf.

SuicideGirl Gamer of the Month: KikiRoseIsABitch (Hopeful)

Why did you choose the name "Kikiroseisabitch"?

I chose this name because Kiki Rose is attached to all my other social medias and isabitch is kinda an inside joke with my friends from dealing with some drama before I signed up to the site. I like to add humor to life and not let things drag me down.

How long have you been a part of the SuicideGirls community?

I actually used to be apart of the Suicide Girls community back in 2014 as a Hopeful under another name, but I wasn't fully ready for that venture yet so I ended up leaving and coming back under this name and have made a better career for myself doing pin ups and doing cosplay and I am way more comfortable with myself than I was back then.

Where are you from?

Originally down south Alabama, but I currently reside in Nashville, TN. I would prefer to get out of the bible belt soon though as opportunities are limited and I get bored easily and want to explore more.

What first got you interested in video games?

My father had the original Nintendo and would play Duck Hunt and Super Mario Brothers with me. Then my uncle gave me the PlayStation 1 and I got hooked on Spyro. I love Spyro and Final Fantasy 7. I hold a special place in my heart for those games because of playing with my father and just being able to escape my everyday dull drum life.

What are some characters that you have cosplayed?

Oh wayyyyy too many. Some of my favorites are Zero Two hence why my hair is pink. Yuno, Sailor Moon, Marin, Poison Ivy to name a few.

Any plans for future cosplays?

Again, way too many. My whole career has been cosplay so I am always planning new ones. Currently working on Yor and Jinx as well as gaining the courage to work on an armor build of Spyro.

What's the longest you have ever had to work on a single cosplay? What made it take longer to make?

A few months. Due to being disabled it can take me a lot longer than normal to finish certain costumes because of my issues.

Do you have any cosplay-related pet peeves?

Wigs in disarray. I always tend to fix mine and others' wigs when i see them out of place!

Favorite video game? Movie? TV show? Band?

Spyro and FF7, Nightmare before Christmas, Friends, Star vs the Forces of Evil, and band I don't really have a favorite band per se, I just have favorite music and songs because I can go through different moods quite often and love various types.

Have you played the FF7 remake? If so, what did you think of it compared to the original?

I have. I loved it. I can't wait for the other parts to come out and see where the story progresses. It's a remake so I try to enjoy things for what they are and not compare to the old. I do enjoy the similarities of the OG and the new of course.

Tell me about your different tattoos.

Well I just got new ones done by my bestie who just became a tattoo artist, which you guys will hopefully see soon. But the ones in my sets are special to me. The one on my thigh is of a daisy and a paw print from my dog who passed away back in 2016. I miss her a lot. My bestie drew it then I got it tattooed. The one on my back is a drawing I did in fourth grade. My back thigh bows are Nightmare before Christmas because I love all things Jack Skellington. I have a heart under my left boob matching my bestie.

What are some of your other hobbies?

My life has been consumed by cosplay I haven't had time for much else. When you are disabled and trying to survive by making a living on your own from a niche career you don't really have time for anything else except doctor appointments and buying more things for your business to create content to hopefully bring in more money to do it all over again. I do on occassion go to Disney theme parks because that is my happy place but that takes alot of planning, saving and making sure I am ok to do so. I would like to do other things because I have so many other interests, but for now I do what I can with the cards that I am dealt. Enjoy life where I can because otherwise you just go insane if it's only work, work, work, all the time.

SuicideGirl Gamer of the Month: Zombae (Hopeful)

Why did you choose the name "Zombae"?

My favorite music group is the Flatbush Zombies so I became “FlatbushZombae” in 2016 and have been Zombae ever since.

How long have you been a part of the SuicideGirls community?

I have been a part of the SG community for about a year now. I’m still a newbie.

Where are you from?

I was originally born in Massachusetts, but now I currently reside in Houston, Texas. I am planning to remain in Texas permanently.

What first got you interested in video games?

I started playing video games as a little girl, I wanna say at about five years old I got my first handheld gaming console. My parents always let me play video games and I think it’s because it helped to keep me off of the streets. Even now as an adult it’s helping to keep me off the streets.

What are some characters that you have cosplayed?

I have done so many cosplays in my lifetime. My first one was at 17 I cosplayed as the Joker. Recently I have cosplayed as Poison Ivy from DC Universe, Lola Bunny from Space Jam, and Zero Two from Darling in the Franxx.

Any plans for future cosplays?

My next cosplay will be an updated version of Poison Ivy. I also have plans for Harley Quinn & Catwoman so that I can compete the Gotham City Sirens.

Favorite video game? Movie? TV show? Band?

Favorite video game is Fortnite. Favorite movie at the moment is Demon Slayer Mugen Train. Favorite TV show is Invincible. Favorite Band is Issues.

Tell me about your different tattoos.

All of my tattoos carry significant meaning.

I have a moon on my neck & a love potion on my arm for witchy purposes. I have a sunflower on my shoulder for depression & awareness.

The symbols on my fingers are my star sign as well as my birth stone. I also have a few tattoos paying homage to Doctor Who which is one of my favorite shows.

I plan to get my next tattoo in memory of my lost friends & family members.

What are some of your other hobbies?

I love to read, and write. I paint every weekend. Yoga and working out are great hobbies and they help keep you in shape.

Also, dancing! I love to dance.

SuicideGirl Gamer of the Month: Valori (Hopeful)

Why did you choose the name 'Valori'?

My nickname is part of my last name and I thought it could relate to value and it's even a reference to the name of Amy Winehouse's song: ''Valerie'." It's not the same word but it reminds me a little bit.

How long have you been a part of the SuicideGirls community?

I joined in May 2021, when I became Hopeful, but I've been following SG on other social medias since around 2019.

Where are you from?

I'm Brazilian, I live in a state called Espirito Santo.

What first got you interested in video games?

I played more games after I started designing sprites and characters for games in pixel art, so what interests me is getting into a different reality and having fun. The types of games I like best are RPGs because you use your imagination and follow a rhythm in history. I also like 2d platform games a lot.

What are you playing currently?

I always have to play the games I'm helping to develop, hopefully in the future I can share them with you! But I also started playing "Life Is Strange" to pass the time on New Year's Eve and I'm kind of enjoyed it. In it you have to choose your destiny and you can go back in time. I haven't finished playing yet.

Favorite video game?

My favorite games are Apocalypse Night and Crystal Wars for now!

Do you cosplay?

I still haven't been able to invest in any cosplay, but I love it! I simply want to invest in the Lust cosplay of Fullmetal Alchemist, Evelyn and Morgana from League of Legends. That would be awesome!

Tell me a little bit about your tattoos.

Well, my chest tattoo is a sun. It means a lot of light, strength and is something very striking. I really like it, it's one of my favorites. My tattoo on my right arm is a small kitten, because I like cats a lot and I really miss a cat that was my companion. The biggest one is a snake wrapped in a black rose, (she has no real meaning to me, but unfortunately I did it the day my mother died, and I didn't know it), so it literally marked me. I also have a sign that represents my mother and sisters.

On my back is a heartagram, (it was my first tattoo, hope to do something big in the future and maybe I'll cover it). And on my leg, I have hopeful writing on the thighs and a black-eyed girl's face. That's all for now. There are some more tattoos I'll be doing soon, so I'll post to show you guys soon!

Tell me more about how you got into designing game sprites / characters. Are you very artistic?

Since I was a child, I've been drawing on sheets and painting on walls. I don't remember exactly how old I started but I was very easy to draw. I started doing digital art in 2019 and since then I've been trying to progress in this area. My instagram for more arts and drawings: @gotsarts

I've been learning pixel art and I made some sprites and characters for a game called Crystal Wars. It's a platform game, where you need to collect crystals and go through the levels, it's relatively new and it's available on Google play, there's still a new update so I hope you like it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bluekid.crystalwars&hl=pt_BR&gl=US

Also, I'm working on a little game called MINICATS, It's more related to kids. It's about taking care of a kitten and there are lots of extra games.

Finally, I've been working on a little game that will be released on steam in the future but I can't give too many spoilers!

Outside of gaming and modeling what are some of your other hobbies?

Unfortunately for now I don't have as many hobbies as I would like, but I'm makeup artist and   I really like to cook, I love making cookies and cakes.

SuicideGirl Gamer of the Month: Ravennoxx (Hopeful)

Why did you choose the name "Ravennoxx"?

Well, Raven is my favorite DC character! Growing up I felt so close to her storyline and how hard she works to balance the power within her while carving her own path regardless of others expectations. Nox is the spell from Harry Potter to extinguish lights, so as a witch and nerd myself I wanted that represented in my name thus Raven Noxx.

How long have you been a part of the SuicideGirls community?

I attended the Blackheart Burlesque twice back in 2017 and 2018 and received my recruitment card there! I have been a hopeful since 2020, my first set was shot in May of 2021 and dropped in November of 2021.So I have been actively on the site since June of 2021!

Where are you from?

I’m originally from the Bay Area in California but I am an honorary Texan after living here since my teens!

Can you tell me a bit more about being a witch? (I'm assuming you've read The Kybalion?)

I have read it! The principles are found in most religions but my magic is more eclectic and unique to myself to slap just one label on.

What got you interested in video games?

I was lucky enough to have a mom who loved video games so they were always around! I remember her playing Spyro, Crash Bandicoot and Rayman on our PlayStation 1. There's been a PlayStation in my home ever since!

What are you playing currently?

I’m currently playing Elder Scrolls Online and the Sims 4 on my twitch ravennoxx666! I am impatiently waiting for Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands! I love the Borderlands series. I even have a tattoo for it!

Favorite game? Movie? Tv show? Band?

Favorite game of all time would probably have to be God Of War 3 just because it was the first game I sat down and played until I beat it. One weekend later I finished it and fell in love! Favorite movie is a bit harder to choose because I can be a bit of a cinephile so my favorite director is Quentin Tarantino, he can showcase my soles whenever! The cinematography of his movies is so breathtaking with great soundtracks! My favorite television show is probably Futurama, bring Bender back baby! My forever reigning favorite band is the Deftones! Chino Moreno has the vocal range of an angel!

Tell me a little bit about your tattoos.

Well all of my tattoos have a meaning to me, even if it is the story behind it! I have a headdress or war bonnet on my right side to signify my indigenous roots and to help me in all battles I face. I have a Colt 45 under a garter on my right leg because I used to competitively shoot with one. On my left side I have a large space scene because it's so fascinating to me! I have always loved the stars and the idea of interstellar travel and living.  There’s so many more to cover but I’ll stick with those three big ones!

What are some characters that you have cosplayed?

So my first full not closet cosplay was Poison Ivy! I have cosplayed as a Camp Counselor from Crystal Lake, Ghost face, Elvira, Raven, Sam from Trick or Treat, Sookie Stackhouse from Trueblood, A Vault Dweller from Fallout and Sheego of course! Quite a lot of horror, but mostly nerdy.

What are your future plans for cosplays?

I would really like to revisit my vault dweller cosplay! I have a pretty awesome Lord of the Rings elf cosplay in the works, and I may have a Tiny Tina coming for the drop of the new game.

Have you seen The Batman yet? As a DC fan, what did you think of it?

I did go see the new Batman on opening week! Definitely will go see it more times before it leaves the big screen! I loved the return to detective roots of Batman, it reminded me of the Animated Series. The fun new aspects they included as backstories for some of the characters were delightful treats!

What's your biggest pet peeve?

Littering, protect mother nature yo!

What are some of your other hobbies outside of video games and modeling?

I’m a huge fan of getting tattoos, each new piece of artwork expresses a new part of my story. I love to shoot guns! I used to competitively shoot as a kid, it’s a great pastime.

SuicideGirl Gamer of the Month: Kashaa (Hopeful)

Why did you choose the name 'Kashaa'?

To be honest it's a play off my name, hahaha. I'm far from creative.

How long have you been a part of the SuicideGirls community?

Since 2019, wow, time flies.

Where are you from?

Missouri, or rather Misery haha.

What first got you interested in video games?

I have grown up with them. I started as a kid on the Atari2600. Joust and Pole Position were my games, and it only escalated as technology improved.

What are you playing currently?

PC: World of Warcraft.

Switch: Pokemon Shining Pearl.

Xbox One: Halo Infinite.

PS5: Horizon Zero Dawn.

Favorite video game? Movie? TV show? Band?

Favorite video game will always be Halo, Even after 343 took over, I will always be faithful to the franchise. Favorite movie is a tough one. I would say ANYTHING Marvel. Favorite TV Show... well, I just binged The Witcher, but I watch Big Bang Theory every night and have watched every season MULTIPLE times (fav show to watch while I'm medicating **puff**).

Do you cosplay?

I have a couple cosplays I've put together over the years. My most recent is Yennefer from, yep, The Witcher

Tell me a little bit about your tattoos.

My left arm is most of my favorite video games, Halo, Final Fantasy, Catherine (if you HAVENT heard of it, check it out) and Mass Effect. I also have a piece on my upper arm that is a scene from Star Wars.

The Millennium Falcon alongside X-Wings and Y-Wings fighting Tie Fighters in front of the Death Star. My right arm, I just have logos for Honda (HUGE obsession of mine) PlayStation and Xbox. I also have a memorial tattoo for my little brother who passed a couple years ago. A month before he passed, me, him, and my other brother got sibling tattoos. My tattoo artist, Michael Rose, found a way to incorporate my late brothers sibling tattoo into ours.

Ah a Star Wars fan. What did you think of the sequel trilogy?

I wasn't upset to be honest. They did tie up a lot of loose ends, at least for me

What Halo did you like best?

Halo 3 was my favorite. It was my gateway and it was one of the last in the franchise that required actual SKILL to play. Now you have all these extra power ups etc.

Outside of nerdy stuff, what are some of your other hobbies?

I work on and build Hondas.

SuicideGirl Gamer of the Month: Samihain

Why did you choose the name 'Samihain'?

I chose the name because I am born on October 31st, and someone had already taken Samhain, so I added an "I" to make it Samihain.

How long have you been a part of the SuicideGirls community?

About three years.

Where are you from?

I am from the Southwestern United States.

What first got you interested in video games?

My parents bought me a Super Nintendo as a child and it started there. I believe I was about six years old. My first games were Super Mario Bros. and Super Ghouls and Ghosts.

What are you playing currently?

I am on my second playthrough of  Dragon Age: Inquisition, going for a trophy for a playthrough on Hard. I also need to finish the expansions of The Witcher 3.

Favorite video game? Movie? TV show? Band?

My favorite video game is probably The Witcher 3, but I also love all things Pokémon. For movie, I'd def have to go with The Fifth Element. TV Show would be The X Files. Band is super hard, but either Amon Amarth or the Foo Fighters. When I was younger I was also obsessed with Blink 182.

If you could own one Pokémon in real life which would it be and why?

Oh that is tough! I'd probably say Leafeon. I've always been fond of grass type Pokémon, and it's so cute!

Have you seen the newest season of The Witcher on Netflix?

Yes! I really like the show, and especially how good Henry Cavill portrays Geralt. I am not a huge fan of the actress they chose as Yennefer, but I think it's because she isn't quite bitchy enough to be Yennefer. I have also read all of the books by Andrzej Sapkowski.

Do you cosplay?

I do! I've been cosplaying since 2011, and my first cosplay was Cammy from Street Fighter 2. I used to go by the cosplay name of Katybear, and at one time had a fairly decent following. You can still Google that name and find lots of old convention photos and interviews from back then. I took a few years off starting around 2015, but I'm getting back into it again. I used to make all of my cosplays, but along with a full time job it became a lot, which is why I decided to take a break. I was missing it by 2020, so I started doing charity events dressed as various superheroes (mostly events for underprivileged children).

I am going to start working on more cosplay sets for SuicideGirls too, and I actually have one that just went live on the site on January 17th. (Lucoa from Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid). I made the horns and painted the hat, and am very happy with how it turned out. I have so many fun ideas, and am feeling very inspired again!

How does cosplay compare with other types of modeling?

It's definitely different from regular modeling. When I am cosplaying I am trying to capture the character's personality, which varies. When I model regularly it's my own personality.

As someone that's cosplayed for awhile, do you have any cosplay-related pet peeves or things about the hobby that have frustrated you?

For me I hate it when someone will comment on a post or message me and start quizzing me like they think I am a "fake geek girl." It's really annoying when this happens because although it is trendy now, it wasn't when I started. I was also teased a lot and bullied when I was younger for being a nerd, and I don't know why someone would think I would fake that. I always try to cosplay as characters I genuinely like and not just what is trendy. I feel it's more genuine that way. I also hate it when someone claims they made their cosplay when they didn't. I've even done a commission for someone and they later were trying to claim they made it. That was not cool at all...

What is one character you would love to cosplay if time / money were no issue for the costume?

A blood elf rogue from World of Warcraft. I used to play that game avidly, and only stopped because it started consuming all my free time.

Tell me a little bit about your tattoos.

I used to have small stars on my chest, and I had them covered by my ravens. They are Huginn and Muninn. I love Norse Mythology. I also have Jörmungandr on my thigh. I have a quote from one of my favorite books, The Handmaid's Tale, on my forearm. It says "Nolite Te Bastardes Carborundorum" and in the book it's supposed to be Latin for "Don't let the bastards grind you down." I have an evil eye on my upper back. I have a small heart on my hip that I got on my 18th birthday. And I also have the start of a half sleeve on my upper arm that is birthday themed. It has my birth flower, which is a Marigold, and some Halloween stuff (like a Jack-o-lantern, spider webs, and bats). I plan to get more, too!

Outside of games and modeling, what are some of your other hobbies?

I love sewing (mostly cosplays), gardening, reading, and horseback riding. I used to ride competitively, and I haven't had a chance to ride in years.

SuicideGirl Gamer of the Month: Sookysins (Hopeful)

Why did you choose the name "Sookysins"?

The name originally came from my kink community online persona, which was SookyKitty (I was very much into pet play and was often described as a 'sook' during punishments!)

Where are you from?

Australia!

How long have you been a part of the SuicideGirls community?

I am fairly new, and joined in October 2020 originally as a photographer, shooting my first set with @LilaJune, 'SuperLuck'.

Do you think that being a photographer also helps you be a better model (or does being a model help you be a better photographer)?

I was a photographer way before I ever got in front of the camera. Modeling helped me understand what it's like being on the other side of the camera and the difficulties that come with that. Although I could pose and direct my models, the first time I got in front of the camera I froze like a deer in headlights! Modeling has definitely made me a better photographer.

What first got you interested in video games?

I was fairly young and it started with the first console I owned which was a PS1!

PS1 is an all-time classic. Do you remember what some of the games you spent the most time on were from that era?

Tomb Raider and Tekken 3 were my first loves, and those games followed me for many consoles to come!

What are some characters that you have cosplayed?

So far I have cosplayed Hinata Hyuga, Lady Deadpool, and Celaena Sardothien.

Any plans for future cosplays?

A whole heap! All of my Patreon and OnlyFans content is very much centered around cosplay. For October alone, I have Michael Myers based on the Kotobukiya Bishoujo Statue and Chucky! I am currently working on Silk from Spider-Man.

What got you interested in cosplaying?

I wanted to bring the characters that I love, to life!

Favorite video game? Movie? TV show? Band?

This is a hard one! My favorite video game would have to go to Skyrim. Although I've played a plethora of games before this one, Skyrim was the first that I genuinely became OBSESSED with! Movies would be any good classic slasher film and TV show would have to be Vikings.

What are some of your other hobbies?

I don't get a whole lot of free time but when I do, my hobbies include art, hula-hooping, fire twirling and of course video games!

Tell me about your different tattoos.

I currently only have two, one is a decorative piece on my sternum made up of flowers and crystals. The second is a girl featuring two fish which ties back to my zodiac sign.

SuicideGirl Gamer of the Month: Jadestoner (Hopeful)

How long have you been a part of the SuicideGirls community?

I joined SG in 2019.

Where are you from?

I'm From St Louis Missouri.

What first got you interested in video games?

I've always loved video games. I used to watch my dad play games every Saturday and Sunday morning when I was super little.

What are some characters that you have cosplayed?

I cosplay White Widow and Blood Widow from Jamie Tyndall's White Widow comics. I cosplay Mary Jane as well as Harley Quinn and Pikachu.

Any plans for future cosplays?

I just got a cosplay outfit for Jamie Tyndall's new comic character Miss Meow. As well as I'm working on getting stuff for a Lady Captain America and Lady Thor.

Favorite video game? Movie? TV show? Band?

My favorite video games are anything Pokémon and Call Of Duty. My favorite movie is Lilo and Stitch. My favorite tv shows are all the Marvel series and my artist is Machine Gun Kelly.

Tell me about your different tattoos.

Well buckle up because this may be a long one. On my left sleeve I have a fox, which represents being smart and quick thinking, as well as some of my favorite flowers; a rose, sunflower, lilies, and cherry blossoms. My right sleeve I have a female warrior who has a dragon chained down, this represents me conquering my demons. I also have dragons attacking the Hogwarts castle. Working your way up my sleeve I have a female tribal warrior with a head dress that is all capped off my a space theme. The space theme works onto the back of my shoulder were I have a weiner dog getting abducted by a UFO for my puppy. My left shoulder has roses and my daughters newborn footprints. On my left collar bone I have "What if..." This is a matching tattoo with my man because our relationship is built off a giant what if.

Now for my legs. On my left thigh I have a butterfly and locket that I drew. It means my heart is locked and fragile and only those with the key can get in. I also have bows on the backs of both thighs because my booty is a gift to the world. I have a small moon with a skull on my left ankle because all the demons come to life at night. Now on to my right leg. On my thigh I have Stitch wearing a Spiderman onesie holding Scrump in an Eevee onesie. It's all my favorite characters together. On my inner ankle I have a memorial piece for my sister and nephew who pasted away. And my calf and shin are a Kitsune, a creature from Japanese folklore, and a lynx, a creature from North American folklore.

What are some of your other hobbies?

I love art. I do pencil sketches. I also love to read comics and do photography.

You are a Harry Potter fan then I presume? What do you think of the 'Fantastic Beasts' films?

I am a fan just not super hard-core. As far as Fantastic Beasts I liked them a lot. It was cool to see some of the cute creatures hidden elsewhere in the films.

Do you have a favorite Pokémon?

I absolutely love the Eeveelutions so I guess you can say I have nine favorites. Especially since I love each of the evolution for a different reason and I can relate to their differences.

How does cosplaying compare with modeling? Is one more difficult than the other? Is one more fun?

Cosplay and modeling can be very similar at times. You can do photoshoots, you still have to prep and get ready, and you have to learn poses that work for you and your character. But they can be a lot different too. For example, when I'm in my Blood Widow or White Widow cosplays, I need to pose more in a spidey and superhero type of way.

You also have to remember you're always a role model to people.  Especially in cosplay. When I go out and cosplay as Pikachu or a Pokémon trainer, I get a lot of kids that want to come say hi or ask me questions. So I've had to learn how to be more PG at times.

SuicideGirl Gamer of the Month: Mikan (Hopeful)

Why did you choose the name "Mikan"?

I chose this name because I love the character from Dangan Rompa, and in general I would have liked to use a short and cute sounding nickname.

How long have you been a part of SuicideGirls?

I have been part of this community since mid of 2019. My first set went out in December 2019 (but actually I asked to delete it, so its no longer in MR).

Where are you from?

I am from Italy! But my blood is not 100% Italian because in my family I had ancestors from Hungary and other parts of Europe.

What first got you interested in video games?

This is a really interesting question. As I also wrote in a blog here on SG, I started playing Pokémon Yellow at the age of 6. A family friend gave us the English version and this also helped me a lot in learning this language! From that moment I never stopped playing Pokémon and it was the beginning of my passion for the world of video games in general.

What are some characters that you have cosplayed?

I started cosplaying at the age of 14-15, I really did a lot of characters! The very first was Sakura Haruno, which I have remade over the years. I also made Nami from One Piece, Rem from Re: Zero, Yumeko Jabami, Misa Amane, Misty from Pokémon, and many others but honestly I have lost the count.

Any plans for future cosplays?

I am planning to do Nico Robin!

Favorite video game? Movie? TV show? Band?

My favorite videogames are The Last Of Us and Skyrim, and in general I love survival games/

My fav movie is Kill Bill!

Fav TV Show: Hannibal

Fav band: I have many bands I love, but Metallica remains my fav band ever.

Do you have any cosplay pet peeves?

I don't have big pet peeves in cosplay, I only really care that the wig is faithful to the character. I like to choose fabrics and details and customize the makeup for each character I play.

Playing any video games currently, or looking forward to any releases?

I've finished The Last of Us 2 and looking forward for Cyberpunk 2077! I am really excited to try it!

Who is your favorite Pokemon?

Mew! And in general, water type ones.

Outside of gaming and modeling, what are some of your other hobbies?

I love painting and drawing :)

The next set in SG will be a cosplay set. I asked to release it in the year 2022. This year I ended up dedicating myself that I will make three more anime cosplays. I am never satisfied with making just one, but I need to be patient to get some details that sometimes take time.
